Frequently asked questions

Want to know how to get started? Go to Help.

Q: Can I get in touch with you?

A: Of course — just open the Contact menu.

Q: I can't find the bike I'm interested in. Can you add it?

A: Sure — open the Contact menu and choose 'A bike is missing from the catalog'.

Q: If I remove a bike from my collection, will I lose its scores?

A: No. Scores are kept. If you add the bike again, you'll get them back.

Q: What does the 'WEIGHT' value under each category mean?

A: When we talk about a bike's final score, one category (for example range) may matter less to you than another (for example price). This value lets you adjust each category's weight. The default is 1 for all of them, but you can set it however you like.

Q: When scoring, I see I can add a comment. What is it for?

A: That comment is only a note for you — so if you give a category a low (or high) score, you can explain why and remember it later.

Q: Do I need to sign up to use the site?

A: Without signing up you can browse the database, but if you want your scored bike collection saved, we need a user account to associate it with. We only store your username.

Q: Is it free?

A: This is a tool I built for my own use, and I decided to share it with others. Completely free!

Q: Can I add bikes to my collection and score them without having ridden them myself?

A: Of course! You can do whatever you like — but that’s not what the site is for, and scoring a bike 9 for ‘comfort’ without sitting on it for a while won’t help much. This site is meant to help you choose a bike to buy.

Q: Is my ranking comparable to other users’ or visible publicly?

A: No. It’s entirely personal and only you can see it.

Q: I spotted incorrect data on a bike sheet. What should I do?

A: Please use the Contact form to let us know so we can fix it.

Q: How can I delete my account?

A: You can use the Contact form to ask us to delete your account.
